EDU-1010  Orientation to Education 

This semester we have been learning about the opportunities and challenges in the profession of teaching.  This class has given me the opportunity to explore my own views as they are related to my philosophy of education, classroom management, and student assessment.  I also had the opportunity to develop and present a lesson plan based on the state core curriculum and complete a research paper exploring the challenges of creating equality for minority students.  The Chinese proverb that I used as an introduction reflects my thoughts about this class.  It has opened doors for me by helping  me to look inside the education profession.  However, it will be my goal to take the experiences I have had and explore them further as I pursue a degree in education.
